Your Role and Responsibilities
As Data Engineer at IBM you will harness the power of data to unveil captivating stories and intricate patterns. You’ll contribute to data gathering, storage, and both batch and real-time processing.
Collaborating closely with diverse teams, you’ll play an important role in deciding the most suitable data management systems and identifying the crucial data required for insightful analysis. As a Data Engineer, you’ll tackle obstacles related to database integration and untangle complex, unstructured data sets.

Your main tasks are:
- Build Data Pipelines: Create and manage systems that process large amounts of data, using tools like Informatica PowerCenter or cloud-based tools.
- Understand Business Needs: Work with business teams to understand their data requirements.
- Identify Data Sources: Find the right places to get the necessary data.
- Ensure Data Quality: Check data for errors and inconsistencies.
- Design Data Structures: Organize and structure data effectively.
- Develop Data Processing Routines: Write code to transform and process data.
- Test and Support: Test the data pipelines to ensure they work correctly and provide support when needed.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with data scientists and analysts to help them with data-related tasks.
What you should know:
- Ab Initio: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Ab Initio.
- Data Quality: Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Data Modeling: Understand data requirements and design efficient data structures.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to improve ETL processes.
- Ab Initio Components: Use various Ab Initio tools to build data integration solutions.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Knowledge of MS-Azure Cloud
- Experience in Informatica PowerCenter
- Experience in Unix shell scripting and python
Work location
Location: Pune, IN
Travel Required:- Up to 20% or 1 day a week
