Job Role : Part Design Engineer

Job Type : Full Time Job

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Conceptualization and Design:
    • You will develop CAD models from A-surface to the final product based on styling, engineering, and project requirements.
  2. CAD Modeling:
    • You have to design and engineer exterior and interior components, ensuring aesthetic appeal and functionality.
    • You will utilize CAD software (Creo preferred) to create high-quality 3D models and drawings of fit and finish components.
    • You must ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturing constraints.
    • You need to have knowledge of DFMEA/DFS/DFM/DFA and GD&T.
  3. Material Selection:
    • You will evaluate and select appropriate plastic materials considering mechanical properties, durability, and cost.
    • You need to collaborate with material suppliers to stay updated on new developments and technologies.
  4. Design Analysis:
    • You have to conduct feasibility studies, considering manufacturing processes, materials, and cost implications.
    • You need to conduct basic-level simulations for fit and finish parts to ensure performance and safety requirements.
    • You have to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  5. Prototyping and Testing:
    • You will work closely with prototyping teams to create physical prototypes for design validation.
    • You should have knowledge of various types of rapid prototyping methods.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:
    • You need to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing updates on design progress and addressing feedback.
    • You have to collaborate with tooling and manufacturing teams to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
  7. Technical Documentation:
    • You have to create and maintain detailed technical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design analysis reports.
    • You need to stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to fit and finish components.

Qualifications:

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • You should have entry-level to mid-level experience in motorcycle or automotive component design.
  • You must be proficient in using CAD software (Creo or similar).
  • You need to have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design principles.
  • You must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • You should have a passion for motorcycles and knowledge of the motorcycle industry.
