Role Responsibilities:
- You will provide technical leadership in supporting Operational Unit (OU) innovation projects.
- You will act as a key enabler in leading and delivering results to overcome challenges.
- You will work with the innovation team to explore new platforms, machine control, data processing, and analytics.
- You will help develop the analytical capabilities of others.
- You have to develop and plan required analytical projects in response to business needs.
- You have to leverage data science tools to address the most challenging process problems in the region.
- You need to develop new analytics/predictive/prescriptive modeling methods and/or tools as required.
- You have to propose prescriptive analytic models to build robust and fault-tolerant process control strategies to reduce operational effort and improve product quality.
- You need to work with process/equipment authorities and application developers to identify data relevant for analysis.
- You will collaborate with process/equipment owners and ITOT (Integrated Technology Operations) to develop and evolve data models for analytical capabilities.
- You will own the data model and its maintenance and development for the hub-site.
- You have to develop and maintain key data pipelines across selected sites globally.
- You have to contribute to the definition of work processes to deploy and maintain predictive/analytical modeling architectures, modeling standards, alarming and reporting, and data analysis methodologies.
- You need to conduct external research to identify and suggest improvements to analytical modeling products, services, protocols, and standards that can support and accelerate the smart manufacturing journey.
- You have to identify, diagnose, and resolve prognostics model performance issues.
- You need to leverage Reliability Engineering principles and improve them with data science to develop new solutions for reducing losses.
Eligibility Criteria for Data Scientist Role.
Job Qualifications:
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Systems/Engineering, Business/Management Information Systems, Programming/Software Development, Operations Research, or Statistics.
- You need to have a strong desire for continuous learning and a willingness to bring “outside-in” perspectives to your work.
- Experience in Manufacturing is a bonus.
Role Requirements:
- You need to have sufficient business knowledge to understand what data is important, when findings are relevant, and how to use data to make informed decisions.
- You must have strong analytical, statistical, and mathematical modeling capabilities to formulate hypotheses and to collect, explore, and extract insights from both structured and unstructured data.
- You have to be proficient in using software for data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning, such as Python, R, SAS, Azure ML, Matlab, PowerBI, and Tableau. You should also be familiar with functional programming and scripting languages, such as .NET, VB, C++, and Python.
- You need to have an understanding of data architecture concepts, including relational database structures, data warehouses, big data management, and data queries.
- You should have a technical understanding of mechatronic systems, combining principles of process, mechanical, electrical, control, and systems engineering.
- You should have experience with advanced analytics, big data, and machine learning techniques.
- You should have experience in designing visualizations that enhance user experience and facilitate effective decision-making.
- You need to be able to assess business operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- You should have experience in data engineering using tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, and KNIME.
- You should have experience working in Agile project environments (SCRUM, Kanban) and operating within DevOps and CI/CD environments.
- You need to be aware of modern IT security risks and principles.
- You must be able to handle multiple priorities concurrently.
- You must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence others and collaborate across functions.
