What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and report patent data errors: You’ll carefully examine patent data for any mistakes and report them to the relevant people to prevent problems with IP payments.
  • Conduct data audits: You’ll thoroughly check patent data against official records to ensure accuracy.
  • Work with data in Excel: You’ll use Excel to work with large amounts of data, including using formulas like IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, and VLOOKUP.
  • Automate tasks: You’ll use VBA (a programming language for Excel) to automate some of your tasks, which is a plus.
  • Compare and analyze data: You’ll compare and analyze large datasets to make sure the data is correct and consistent.
  • Review and analyze data integrity reports: You’ll regularly review reports on data quality and take the necessary steps to address any issues.
  • Reconcile client portfolios: You’ll make sure that the information about your clients’ patents is up-to-date.
  • Validate renewal reports: You’ll carefully check reports that identify patents that need to be renewed to ensure that the system correctly identifies and calculates renewal fees.
  • Support the operations team: You’ll help the operations team by resolving issues related to clients’ patent payment data and managing the rules for different countries.
  • Analyze data trends: You’ll analyze data to identify patterns and trends, and use this information to create reports.
  • Collaborate with your team: You’ll work effectively with other members of the IP payment services team.
  • Ensure timely renewals: You’ll regularly review reports to make sure that no patent renewals are missed.
  • Track portfolio changes: You’ll regularly check reports to track new patents and any changes in the status of existing patents.
  • Generate and reconcile Symphony reports: You’ll generate reports related to the Symphony system and ensure that the information in these reports is accurate.
  • Maintain records: You’ll keep internal databases, tracking tools, and project timelines organized and up-to-date.
  • Improve processes: You’ll help find ways to improve the current processes to reduce errors, improve quality, and meet deadlines.
  • Meet performance goals: You’ll work to meet performance targets related to how quickly you respond to requests, the accuracy of your work, your efficiency, and other important metrics.

Educational Background:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, Finance, or Engineering is preferred. This indicates a foundation in analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that are crucial for IP management.

Experience:

  • While 0+ years of experience is acceptable, prior exposure to Finance or Intellectual Property is a significant advantage. This prior knowledge can accelerate learning and understanding of the industry-specific nuances.

Communication Skills:
