Job Summary
As an Entry-Level Hardware Developer in IBM Systems, you’ll help design, validate, and support hardware, firmware, and semiconductors behind IBM zSystems, IBM Power Systems, IBM Storage, and IBM Quantum. You’ll collaborate with an elite engineering team, gain hands-on experience across the silicon-to-systems stack, and build a career at the forefront of microelectronics and high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- 🧠 Design and verify digital logic (RTL) for processors and SoCs
- 🧪 Run physical, analog/IO, and electronic design automation (EDA) flows
- 📶 Analyze signal integrity and power integrity; perform performance modeling
- 🔌 Develop circuit/electrical designs; contribute to PCB layout and reviews
- 📦 Drive microelectronics packaging, materials analysis, and characterization
- 🌡️ Perform thermal design, testing, and power delivery/voltage regulation
- 🧯 Validate processors/systems; conduct component and system characterization
- 🐞 Build and debug firmware; perform failure analysis and test support
- 🤝 Provide customer and field engineering support for deployed systems
- ✅ Contribute to quality, specifications, and analytics for product excellence
