Purpose of the role To be the main link between the business, technology, and security teams. To make sure information is kept private, correct, and available, and to help reduce security risks.

Responsibilities

• Work with others to understand what security they need in their business processes and IT projects, to improve overall risk management.
• Do risk assessments to find and prioritize possible cybersecurity threats that could affect the bank’s work and data. Guide how to reduce these threats and tell important senior people about what was found.
• Work with business units to develop and put in place security policies and procedures for the bank’s operations that fit with the risk management framework.
• Oversee putting in place, testing, and checking security controls across the bank’s IT systems to make sure the controls work and risks are reduced.
• Create and give training to teach employees, increase cybersecurity awareness, and provide guidance on safe online practices.
• Manage complex cybersecurity incidents by working with IT teams and response experts to effectively solve cases by analyzing, providing expert support, and overseeing projects.
• Find new cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to address possible risks by suggesting new security solutions.

• Maintain and continuously improve understanding of how own sub-function integrates with the overall function, as well as knowledge of the organization’s products, services and processes within the function.
• Show understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to achieving the objectives of the organization’s sub-function.
• Make judgments based on analyzing factual information, paying attention to detail.
• Solve problems by identifying and choosing solutions using acquired technical experience and precedents as a guide.
• Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
• Be the contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside the team and external to the organization.
