Your Role and Responsibilities As a Frontend developer :

Purpose of the role:

You will design, develop, and improve software that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues, utilizing various engineering methodologies.

Accountabilities:

You have to develop and deliver high-quality software solutions by using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensure your code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
You need to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
You have to collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
You need to stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations. Actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
You have to adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
You have to implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Barclays Off Campus Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: Any Bachelor’s degree.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

You must have strong foundational skills in web front-end development, including proficiency in React, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ES6.
You must be familiar with version control tools like Git.
You need to have knowledge of frontend best practices and basic UX principles.
You should be able to write unit tests using Jest or Selenium.
You need to have a conceptual understanding of application architecture and REST/API design.
You should be familiar with Agile software development practices.

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

You should have experience with relational databases like SQL Server and Oracle, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
You should have some familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) concepts and tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, and Git.
Experience with any of these would be a plus:
- Relational databases: SQL Server, Oracle

- CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, Git
